Search Engine Optimization (SEO), the foundation of every website is implementation on and off your website in order to improve the ranking of your site on the Search Engine Result Page (SERP). Techniques that we use directly on your site is called On-page, while the process that we perform that is not within the site is called Off-page. With these two implementations, your ranking on Google for certain keywords related to your service or your product will improve. Let’s take a look at how Google actually determines the ranking.
A lot of people will ask….”What determines your ranking?” or “What do we have to do in order to get onto the first page?”. That is the million-dollar question. We cannot tell you exactly which factors will cause your ranking to increase or drop since there are over 200 ranking factors. However, there is a common goal that all 200 factors are pointing towards, which is helping user find a solution or service that they are looking for.
Google has robots that we call “spiders” and they crawl all over the internet, into websites and understand what that site is about. They assess the site and determine if the site is relevant to what people are searching for as well as if it is beneficial for the user. Since there are many Let’s have a look at the On-page SEO.
On-page optimization is a process that us Digital Marketing Consultant would implement on the website. Usually an On-Page optimization will begin with a site audit, then proceed to editing the existing content on the website and lastly, create new content that is necessary for the client. As a SEO Specialist, Leon will utilize Google Analytics, Search Console as well as Google Trend to implement a proper SEO strategy. The main factors that we need to do as a standard would be implementing Meta-Data onto a client’s site. The purpose for On-Page SEO is to have Google crawl your site more efficiently and understand what it is about. Meta-data commonly will include Title Tags, Meta Descriptions, and Headers.
This is the process where SEO consultants connect with people throughout the web trying to promote your brand. There are two main crucial factors in Off-page SEO, which is link removal and link building. A good SEO Strategist will help you connect with people and have them linking back to your site through their website, but a great SEO Specialist will monitor who is linking to your site and remove any links that might affect your ranking.
Well…there is no law saying you “need to”…but…as a Digital Marketing Strategist, I strongest suggest you implement it. Imagine your website is like an essay and a Search Engine is the reader reading your essay. Will it be easier for them to read if you organized it neatly instead of just having one big paragraph?
Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter and all other Social Media platforms are perfect for you to get your brand name out there. How can a Social Media Specialist help you? Let me explain it.
What is Search Engine Marketing? How can a SEM Specialist help you grow you business. There are other Digital Marketing tools other than Social Media that you can utilize. Have a look at it now and expand!
Unfortunately, the answer is NO. Search Engine Optimization is not like Search Engine Marketing where you can get data right away. SEO is a procedure that takes time to see results. You are trying to build up your reputation for Google. Just like in real life, it takes time for you to build your brand and reputation. Same thing goes with Google.
It takes time and data for a Search Engine to trust you and to think that you are the authority in your industry. Another factor that really determines how quickly you see the result is the keyword that you select for each page. If it is a very competitive keyword, that means there are sites that have been around longer than you and will probably hold more authority than you. In that case, it will take a lot longer to rank higher in order to compete with them. If this really happens, I would recommend Search Engine Marketing (SEM) while you do SEO, so that at least you can get some traffic into your site for branding purposes. On the other hand, yes, you might see the result quicker if you select keywords that are less competitive. However, what if the keyword does not have any traffic? That means even if you are ranking higher, you are not generating traction and traffic to your site. As a result, being able to select a Keyword that is the most suitable for you is important. I will be discussing and teaching how to select a proper keyword for your site on my blog later, so please stay tuned!
